Dama has three sons and a daughter. She owns her own small shop on the roadside between Yabelo and Mega and, despite never having an education, she set herself up in business when her husband died four years ago.
“My favourite photographs are of the transactions that take place in my shop because people will see I am strong and work for myself”
Dama started with nothing and initially bought goods on credit from friends, but now she is making a profit. She has also built up a small herd of livestock, tended to by her children.
