Bethlehem has a twin sister, and as a twin gets support from Gemini Trust. She is excited about the whole concept of the EthiopiaLives.net project, saying that it is the first time in her life that anyone has trusted her with a camera:

"No-one would have loaned me a camera even for a day," she says, "and now I'm taking pictures for the project. Before there was no camera in my house - in fact there wasn't even a camera in my village!"

As part of ethiopialives.net she intends to take pictures of her life and her country and present them to the world.
