Many young boys in Addis follow this hair style. The decoration in my friend's hair is made of wood. The style comes from male Ethiopian emperors and heroes. Emperor Teowdors of Gondor and Emperor Yohannes of Tigray are famous for braided hair. Now it's back in fashion!
