| This girl is four years old and she is celebrating her birthday with her parents and friends. Birthday celebrations in Addis have become a common thing. People buy cakes, candies, cookies, candles and all sorts of things that children like and have a wonderful time. Some people even prepare food and drinks for grown ups and invite relatives to join the party. Birthday parties are usually for young children as when people grow up they lose interest in celebrating birthdays. In Ethiopian culture, there isn't much birthday celebration as this is more of a modern and western culture.
